Overview

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital has proudly served as the sole healthcare provider for western Nevada County for more than 50 years. Much has happened since the hospital opened in 1958, including additions in 1994 of a 68,000 square foot Outpatient Center, a comprehensive Cancer Center and most recently, the opening of the Sierra Nevada Diagnostic Center in the fall of 2006. SNMH is a licensed, acute care hospital providing a full range of services including cardiovascular, surgical, emergency and diagnostic. SNMH offers access to the SNMH Health Sciences Library. The library features continuing and medical education for healthcare professionals, diabetes classes, prenatal classes, cancer support groups, and family caregiver classes. In addition, we have more than 90 board certified primary and specialty care physicians on our active and associate medical staff.

Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CT/MRI Imaging Specialist performs general radiographic procedures, CT and MRI using advanced processing techniques.

LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS:

. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT

. Current California State Department of Health x-ray permit. ARRT in CT and/or MRI preferred. ARRT in MRI or CT within 1 year.

. Current California State Department of Health Certification as a Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT),

. Current BLS

. California fluoroscopic permit.

EXPERIENCE:

Three years experience in an Imaging Department.

Five years experience in CT

Five years experience in MRI in a Hospital setting.

SKILL SET:

.Knowledge of: anatomy and physiology for Imaging including, cross sectional relationships,

. Medical terminology related to Imaging procedures,

. Principles of operation and care of radiologic, CT and MRI equipment currently accepted diagnostic radiologic, special procedures,

mammography, CT or MRI procedures,radiation safety requirements and practices for the operator, patient and public, film processing systems,

mechanical and electrical safety practices and requirements in the patient examination environment.

. Preparation, use and hazards of diagnostic contrast materials. ) preferred.

Qualifications
